Dani Lightle | Policy & Stewardship Director

Dani’s passion for insects led her to the agricultural sector. Originally from Ohio, she moved to Oregon to pursue her PhD in entomology at Oregon State University, graduating in 2013. After earning her doctorate, she spent five years with the University of California Cooperative Extension as an Orchard Crops Advisor, conducting research and providing education on all aspects of tree crop production. She later returned to Oregon to lead the IR-4 pesticide registration program at OSU’s North Willamette Research and Extension Center, where she served for five years. In 2024, Dani joined the team at Oregonians for Food and Shelter. When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and planning their next adventure.
